We have arrived

Just wanted to let everyone know that we have arrived safe and sound in Texas. We are in our new house and worshipped at our new church this morning. Our furniture does not arrive until Tuesday. So we are camping out... It's okay though. I will write more later when we have settled in.

Sorting and packing

We are busy packing and cleaning and sorting. I think we will be ready by moving day, which is going to be the last week of July. We, once again, want to say thanks to all of our family and friends for all their support and encouragement during this time of transition in our lives. Everything is going well with the house purchase and all that. We are so thankful, God is working it all out.

For those friends who live here, there is going to be a Farewell Cookout on Sunday July 19 at the big park in Fairview at 5 pm. Bring your own meat to cook, grills are provided. We hope to see you there.

Our new address, as of August 1, is 1818 Chestnut, Dalhart, TX 79022
Keep in touch.

Love to all,

Step by Step

Step By Step
By Rich Mullins

Oh God, You are my God
And I will ever praise You
Oh God, You are my God
And I will ever praise You

I will seek You in the morning
And I will learn to walk in Your ways
And step by step You'll lead me
And I will follow You all of my days

God brought this song to mind yesterday. That has been the process that God has been leading us through since last fall. Step by step he leads...our job is to learn to walk in HIS ways. Not to run ahead, not to lag behind, not to drag our heels. My prayer for you and for me is that we will learn to follow God's plan for our lives...step by step.

God Bless You,

Shannon

Pack your bags, ya'll, we're headed to Texas!

God has made his plan known to us. The First Presbyterian Church in Dalhart, Texas has offered Dave a call to be their new minister and Dave has accepted. We are currently house shopping and we will probably be moving in late July.

We had a wonderful time with the people from the church this past weekend. We praise God for leading us on this next step in our ministry. We will miss all of our friends here in Illinois but we are confident that God also has a special plan for each of you; a new way or a new place to serve God. Keep seeking, you will find God's path for you.

Will all our love,

Pastor Dave and Shannon

Rainbow

"I will put a rainbow in the sky, and it shall be the sign of my covenant with you." Genesis 9:13

Last night we got into Dalhart about 6 pm and stopped for dinner. It rained while we were in the restaurant. When Dave and I came out of the restaurant, there was a huge rainbow in the sky. Those of you who know us well, know about the way God has sent us a rainbow in every transitional time in our lives, this is really incredible. It is even more amazing because they only get about 15 inches of rain a year here. (I know he have had that in Illinois in the last three months) So for it to be raining, for it to be then sunny and for us to leave the restaurant at the right time to see the rainbow, it just had to be a God thing. God has definitely led us here to Dalhart Texas. Thanks for all your prayers and support. We will keep you posted.

God is so Amazing!!

Texas bound, again...

Dave and I are leaving for Texas tomorrow. Dave will be preaching Sunday morning at the First Presbyterian Church in Dalhart, Texas. The church is in a town of approx. 7000 in the northwest corner of the Texas panhandle. Thank you to everyone who is following our blog and who are praying for us. If the church votes to accept Dave as their pastor, we will be searching for a house and moving in the next 8-10 weeks. Please pray for our kids as this transition will be difficult for them as well.

God will never take away something without giving you something better in its place.
"I wait for the Lord, my soul waits and in his Word, I put my HOPE" Psalm 130:5

Blessings, Shannon
