We had a good weekend in Nebraska. Met a lot of people and saw some beautiful countryside. There were some encouraging things and some things that caused to wonder if this is the place for us. Now comes the hard part. The waiting. Waiting for God to show us what is our next step.
"Those who WAIT on the Lord will renew their strength, they will mount up like wings of eagles, they will run and not be weary, they will walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:31
When we were kids, our parents often told us we had to wait for something. It was hard then and it is still hard now. We continue to wait on God's timing, wait for Him to show us his new plan for our lives. The problem is...he does not tell us how long we have to wait. It goes back to our childhood again. We are told, "It's 25 days until Christmas or your birthday or the end of school" We make a calendar and count down the days. The problem with waiting on God is that he does not tell us the target date. We don't know which day we are counting down to.
So we find ourselves in one of two camps. We wait impatiently, tapping our foot and saying, "OK God, get with it already." OR We wait expectantly but calmly, sitting at Jesus feet listening for his words of wisdom and hanging on every word.
As we wait for God's plan to unfold in our lives, we are trying to wait expectantly, waiting for God to reveal his plan in His own time.
Trying to wait patiently on God,
Shannon

Nebraska this weekend
Dave and I will be going to Adams, Nebraska this weekend to visit a church there. Dave will be preaching there on Sunday. We leave of Thurs evening and will be back on Sunday evening. Please pray for us as we take a look at the church and schools and get to know the people there. Pray that God will clearly lead us as to whether this is the next church that we are to serve. Please continue to pray for our kids as we all travel this unknown road together.
Take time this week to be still before God and listen to His voice.

Quick Quote: Give thanks for unknown blessings already on their way.

be still and know
Just a quick note as to why the title: Be Still and Know. It comes from Psalm 46:10 "Be Still and Know that I am God" This is a verse that Dave has used in prayer meetings to bring the focus in to God and how we can be still in his presence. During this time of waiting on God and waiting for His plan for our future, Be still and know that I am God continues to hold deep meaning in our lives. We pray that you too will be still and know that God is available to you any time.

Dave and I are attending a training seminar this Monday thru Wednesday. It is a one-on-one intensive seminar to help Dave deal with all the stuff he has been through and to help him learn how to handle conflict and such in the future. Please keep us in your prayers this week. Thanks and God Bless, Shannon
